As the pioneering Senior Associate, Corporate Development, you will be the first dedicated hire in a crucial function that drives the company's growth strategy. Collaborating closely with the Chief of Staff, you will assess M&A opportunities, oversee a burgeoning pipeline of strategic partnerships, and deliver analyses and recommendations that shape Hiive's expansion into new markets, product lines, and customer segments. Your role will encompass due diligence, competitive research, and strategic decision support across a diverse and expanding portfolio of active projects. This position offers significant exposure and carries real stakes. Each week, you might evaluate a potential acquisition, advance partnership discussions, analyze a new competitive landscape, and draft strategic recommendations that guide the company’s future investments.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Identifying and assessing M&A and partnership prospects through both inbound interest screening and proactive outbound searches, collaborating with sales & trading to uncover strategic leads from commercial activities.
Managing the corporate development and partnership pipeline across various active projects, including tracking progress, drafting briefs, coordinating follow-up actions, and fostering internal alignment among stakeholders necessary to advance opportunities.
Producing actionable strategic research for leadership, encompassing market landscape assessments, competitive analyses, and build-buy-partner recommendations for new business lines.
Drafting deal memos for specific M&A and partnership opportunities, including preliminary due diligence, strategic fit evaluations, and identification of key risks.
Supporting the team in various operational tasks to ensure smooth execution of corporate development initiatives.
