About the Role
As a Junior Analytics Engineer at JUMO, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our Analytics Engineering team across various functional data domains. Collaborating closely with key stakeholders and data engineers, you will manage data requests from both internal teams and external partners, ensuring seamless data flow. You will report directly to the Data Modelling & Reporting Team Lead.
Your Responsibilities
- Engage with diverse stakeholders, including Product Owners, Data & Prediction teams, Finance, Marketing, and external partners, to investigate and analyze data within our data warehouse and operational data stores, addressing real-world challenges.
- Develop a thorough understanding of the end-to-end architecture of your functional domain, enabling you to dive deep into data to troubleshoot issues and perform ad-hoc data extracts.
- Conduct quality assurance on new and existing datasets and pipelines to identify inconsistencies and anomalies, guiding data cleansing and problem resolution efforts.
- Employ advanced data querying and analytical skills to provide insights and support for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Clearly define reporting requirements and possess the capability to construct operational reports and strategic dashboards that meet business needs.
Your Qualifications
- 2-3 years of experience in data and/or systems analysis, with a portion of that experience in a formal Business Intelligence (BI) environment.
- A university degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Informatics, or equivalent industry experience.
- Demonstrated ability in analytics, business process analysis, and effectively communicating recommendations at all organizational levels.
- Practical understanding of data processing and storage solutions.
- Experience with relational database management systems, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redshift, and SQL Server.
- Proven ability to write complex data queries in various languages for data retrieval, analysis, and modeling.
- Capability to independently explore and comprehend complex data domains.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel.
- Knowledge of Data Governance, Agile methodologies, and Quality Assurance standards.
- Strong critical thinking skills, particularly under pressure and tight deadlines.
- Experience with GitHub and JIRA or similar project management tools.
