In the role of Lead Power Systems Technology Engineer, you will operate under the general supervision of the Director, spearheading intricate engineering projects and assignments. Your expertise will be pivotal in conducting studies, integrating, enhancing, and supporting cutting-edge power systems applications essential for the efficient operation of the grid. You will serve as a subject matter expert in the design, engineering, and testing of market software, including Real-Time and Day-Ahead Market Applications, State Estimator (SE), Real-Time Contingency Analysis (RTCA), Dispatcher Load Flow, Voltage Stability Application (VSA), and Dynamic Stability Application (DSA) software. Your proactive approach will enable you to foresee, identify, and resolve engineering-related challenges, while also coordinating software modifications with internal departments and external vendors. Additionally, you will provide technical expertise and business rule support to various departments and external entities concerning reliability coordination and market operations. Your leadership will extend to various customer initiatives, including but not limited to the Energy Imbalance Market (EIM), Extended Day-Ahead Market (EDAM), and Reliability Coordination (RC).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee functional testing of existing applications and newly added features in the Day-Ahead/Real-Time Market, Market Quality Solutions, and Transmission Network Applications.
  • Provide operational support across day-ahead, hour-ahead, and real-time desks while offering training and guidance to on-call staff.
  • Proactively identify and troubleshoot engineering-related issues, leveraging your knowledge of policy issues and related matters.
  • Maintain current applications, analyze system errors from various perspectives, and collaborate with team members to identify root causes.
  • Enhance, improve, and support Day-Ahead Market (DAM), Real-Time Market, and Market Quality Services (MQS) applications.
  • Lead the design, testing, and documentation of user training and associated activities as needed.
