Role Overview:

As the Mechanical Category Manager, you will be instrumental in developing, executing, and overseeing Data Center equipment initiatives for various direct and indirect mechanical products. Your contributions will have an immediate and substantial effect on our ability to enhance and expand our data center operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development, execution, and management of Data Center equipment initiatives for a diverse array of mechanical products.

  • Negotiate and manage complex programs for Chillers, CRAH units, Fan Walls, CDU systems, and other necessary electrical equipment.

  • Oversee equipment schedules, budgets, and costs to facilitate the construction of large new Data Centers.

  • Drive the integration and development of both new and existing suppliers to ensure effective collaboration.

  • Lead the onboarding and selection of suppliers based on cost analysis and lead times related to RFPs.

  • Provide strategic insights, understanding the Total Cost of Ownership to inform sourcing decisions.

  • Formulate implementation strategies, define responsibilities, and establish communication plans and timelines.

  • Guide implementation efforts for mechanical equipment categories that significantly impact business operations and internal clients.

  • Monitor compliance with supplier agreements regarding speed, scope, and schedule.

  • Conduct comprehensive spend analysis, develop methodologies, and implement metrics tools for tracking progress and identifying areas for improvement.

  • Negotiate, review, and execute the implementation of contracts in alignment with company policy and business objectives.

  • Identify and implement system solutions and best practices to optimize indirect sourcing and procurement processes.

  • Cultivate strong relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders to enhance operational efficiency.
