Qualifications:Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline.5+ years of experience in mechanical design. Strong foundational knowledge and proven expertise in complex systems design. Experience in stress and finite element analysis. Proficiency with Siemens NX and its associated tools. Systematic problem-solving skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to multidisciplinary audiences. Highly self-motivated, capable of working independently and driving technical projects. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in crafting detailed technical reports. Familiarity with Product Data Management (PDM) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.

Role Overview

The Mechanical Design Engineer - Turboshaft Systems will support the design and development of a new Turbogenerator system. This role is based in San Jose, California.

Main Responsibilities

  • Create detailed models of components and large assemblies for the Turbogenerator using Siemens NX.
  • Develop master geometry and skeleton models.
  • Design components with manufacturability and assembly in mind.
  • Produce accurate 2D manufacturing drawings.
  • Apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing standards.
  • Oversee the design process, working closely with manufacturing and testing teams.
  • Maintain bills of materials, test protocols, and design guidelines.
  • Present design concepts clearly to stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively with supply chain, quality assurance, manufacturing, and engineering teams.
