Qualifications
ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop mechanical assemblies and systems for diverse applications. Create initial concepts, CAD designs, and detailed engineering drawings. Conduct rapid prototyping of subsystems and full systems, including experimentation and validation processes. Select and assess mechanical designs for reliability in challenging marine environments. Collaborate with vendors and manufacturing partners to source and assemble mechanical components and assemblies. Participate in regular field testing and government demonstrations to validate prototypes. QualificationsProven experience in building complex systems from the ground up, particularly autonomous platforms. Background in marine, aerospace, robotics, or automotive hardware development. Expertise in CAD software (Solidworks, NX) is required. Fabrication skills (machining, welding, use of hand-tools) are advantageous. Exceptional problem-solving abilities and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment. Strong communication skills and effective collaboration with cross-functional teams. Comfortable working under conditions of uncertainty, with limited resources and tight deadlines.
