About the job

The Meetings and Events Project Director at Emota leads teams in delivering global projects for high-profile clients. This hybrid role is based in either Ashby-de-la-Zouch or Manchester, with at least two days per week required in the nearest office. Reporting to the Senior Project Director, this position manages Project Managers, Senior Project Managers, and Senior Project Executives.

Role overview

This director-level position focuses on guiding project delivery teams to meet quality standards and financial targets. The role involves direct involvement in major client projects, acting as Project Lead for complex, multi-disciplinary assignments, and maintaining best practices in project management and compliance. Regular collaboration with the Director of Meetings and Events is expected, along with national and international travel for client and supplier engagement.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead meetings and events teams to ensure high-quality project outcomes and financial sustainability.
  • Oversee delivery of high-profile client projects and act as Project Lead for multi-service line initiatives.
  • Support financial forecasting and analysis for assigned accounts in partnership with the Director of Meetings and Events.
  • Review and maintain project budgets, ensuring accurate financial tracking and regular project 'health checks' to maintain positive cash flow.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on company financial tools and processes.
  • Identify and report on cost-saving opportunities and ensure compliance with invoicing procedures.
  • Oversee the final reconciliation of events within established timelines.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with clients and stakeholders through effective communication.
