Prisma International, Inc. is eagerly looking for skilled and professional interpreters to join our network as Independent Contractors. In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide vital on-site interpretation services for our esteemed client in the State of Washington, specifically in Spokane County. There may also be potential assignments for over-the-phone (OPI) and video remote interpreting (VRI).

We are particularly seeking interpreters proficient in English and the following languages:

  • Spanish (US) - the most requested language, in addition to:

Important Note: This position requires a Washington State Patrol (WSP) background check and residency in Washington state. Candidates who have previously completed a comprehensive WSP background check will be eligible for expedited screening.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Proven experience with consecutive or simultaneous on-site interpretation, particularly in interactions between government representatives and non-English speakers.
  • Exemplary communication skills, including politeness, clear enunciation, and a commitment to high-quality customer service.
  • Able to accurately convey concepts and meanings between speakers and Limited English Proficient (LEP) individuals.
  • Maintain correct grammar, clarity, and appropriate tone throughout the interpretation process.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow the speakers' directions, interject professionally for clarifications, and manage conversation flow effectively.
  • Commitment to refrain from side conversations with LEP individuals and avoid any disagreements with clients or LEPs.
  • Adherence to ethical standards and practices relevant to the profession.
  • Experience in healthcare, legal, medical, government, or court settings is highly desirable.
