Minimum of 1 year experience in an environment involving the operation and control of low voltage electrical equipment. Proficient in wiring for LV installations. Strong knowledge of electrical theory and troubleshooting techniques. Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and reporting abilities. Familiarity with the Electricity Supply Act 1990 and its regulations. Possession of a valid Chargeman A0/A1 certificate from the Energy Commission (ST) or a Diploma in Electrical Engineering. Competent in computer skills. Customer-oriented, independent, and possessing strong interpersonal skills. Valid driving license D and willingness to be based in Sitiawan, Perak. Willingness to relocate to Batu Gajah, Kerian, or Penang. Strong communication skills in both Bahasa Malaysia and English (verbal and written). Physically and mentally fit. Availability to work on weekends and public holidays as needed.

About the job

  • Oversee all electrical systems and civil works within the solar PV facility to ensure adherence to regulations and optimize system performance.
  • Perform regular inspections and maintenance on solar PV systems, focusing on DC and LV components and connections.
  • Address electrical malfunctions related to solar PV systems, conducting fault diagnosis and implementing corrective measures.
  • Create and maintain thorough documentation and records for all corrective and preventive maintenance activities through provided channels.
  • Supervise and monitor solar PV system-related tasks carried out by designated contractors.
  • Prepare reports for product warranty claims, including inverters, PV modules, data loggers, etc.
  • Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual operational reports detailing electricity production, efficiency, availability, maintenance activities, outages, inspection results, manufacturer-recommended services, replacements, and adjustments of equipment and protective devices.
  • Collaborate with governmental bodies such as the Energy Commission (ST), Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), and visiting electrical consultants on solar PV system-related matters.
  • Engage with vendors and contractors regarding warranty and product quality issues.
  • Manage and maintain an inventory of spare parts and tools.
  • Support and assist the project execution team during and after the construction and installation phases of the solar PV system.
  • Contribute to other O&M-related activities in residential, commercial, industrial, and large-scale solar projects as required by the engineer.
  • Provide full support during emergencies (24/7 availability).
  • Be available for support during Hari Raya and public holidays.
  • Working hours and days are subject to the solar plant owner's arrangements.
