Main Responsibilities Oversee MySQL databases in production and staging, ensuring high availability, strong performance, and reliability. Design, manage, and support clusters for MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and Cassandra, with a focus on scalability and resilience. Develop and enforce strategies for backup, recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery across all major database platforms. Lead performance tuning, optimizing queries, schemas, indexing, and partitioning for demanding workloads. Manage replication, clustering, and failover architectures to support business continuity. Drive automation and AI-driven operations by developing self-healing scripts, predictive scaling, and proactive monitoring. Collaborate with Cloud/DevOps teams using AWS services such as RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, EC2, and S3 to improve cost efficiency, security, and performance. Create monitoring dashboards and alerting systems for slow queries, replication delays, deadlocks, and capacity planning. Ensure compliance with security standards, including encryption, auditing, and regulatory requirements. Lead incident management and on-call response, minimizing mean time to recovery (MTTR). Contribute to database roadmaps, automation strategies, and the adoption of AI-driven DBA practices as a strategic technical partner. Required Skills and Experience 6–10 years of DBA experience, with a primary focus on MySQL (including InnoDB, replication, and clustering). Strong working knowledge of MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and Cassandra administration. Proven ability in database performance tuning, schema design, and query optimization. Extensive experience with AWS cloud database services (RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, S3, and backup/restore frameworks). Proficiency in Linux administration, shell scripting, and automation frameworks. Familiarity with AI/ML tools for database monitoring and operational efficiency. Experience managing large-scale, high-availability OLTP/OLAP workloads. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Main Responsibilities Cluster Administration: Install, configure, and manage on-prem Hadoop clusters (Apache Hadoop 2.7.1 and 3.4.x). Oversee Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS), including storage, replication, and data balancing. Manage resource allocation and scheduling using Apache YARN. Upgrade & Migration: Lead Hadoop upgrades from version 2.7 to 3.4 in on-prem environments. Handle cluster migrations, validate data integrity (HDFS checksums, block integrity), and maintain backward compatibility for existing jobs. Use migration tools and manage changes in distributions. Ecosystem Management: Administer and optimize Apache Hive, including query tuning and metastore management. Work with ecosystem tools such as Spark (basic admin exposure preferred) and Tez (Hive execution engine). Maintain high availability for Hive Metastore and other critical services. Performance & Optimization: Monitor cluster health, job performance, and resource utilization. Tune YARN queues, capacity scheduler, Hive queries, and execution plans. Manage disk, memory, and network usage for optimal performance. Implement enhancements for large-scale data processing. Security & Governance: Configure authentication and authorization protocols. Ensure compliance with data security policies. Manage access controls and maintain audit logs. Troubleshooting & Support: Support and resolve Hadoop cluster issues.
