About the Role
Join our Member Experience team as the Payments & Risk Operations Lead, where you will spearhead one of Base-Power's essential business functions: maintaining high-quality member operations as we scale, focusing on minimizing delinquency and curbing fraud. You will be responsible for the strategy, operations, systems, and daily management of the billing and payments lifecycle, striking a balance between member satisfaction, risk management, and profitability. Your initiatives will enhance the quality and compliance of our membership portfolio, fostering trust among our members.
Key Responsibilities
Payment Collection: Ensure timely enforcement of payment policies to maintain member good standing.
Billing Operations: Establish and manage processes for collections, billing discrepancies, disputes, chargebacks, payment plans, and escalations to resolve billing issues effectively.
Fraud Prevention & Credit Quality: Oversee operational processes including credit checks and identity verification, collaborating closely with the Software Engineering team.
Process Governance: Work in partnership with Finance and Compliance to create and uphold effective business processes, policies, and controls that ensure profitability and adherence to regulatory standards.
Reporting: Develop and maintain detailed reports to track operational KPIs and the overall health of the payments & risk lifecycle.
Qualifications
4-8 years of experience in billing, payments, or risk management, preferably in the energy, utilities, fintech, or similarly regulated consumer industries.
A strategic mindset combined with a hands-on approach, capable of envisioning high-level strategies while also managing day-to-day operational tasks.
Proficient in managing and optimizing operational workflows efficiently.
Highly organized, with a strong emphasis on documentation and process clarity.
