About Etched
At Etched, we are pioneering the first AI inference system specifically designed for transformer architectures, achieving over 10x greater performance and significantly reduced cost and latency compared to traditional solutions like the B200. Our custom ASICs empower the creation of innovative products, including real-time video generation models and advanced reasoning agents capable of deep and parallel thought processes. Supported by substantial investments from leading venture capitalists and staffed by top engineering talent, we are transforming the foundational infrastructure for one of the fastest-growing industries today.
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled PCB Design for Manufacturing (DFM) Engineer to facilitate collaboration between our hardware design teams and PCB fabrication partners. In this role, you will ensure that our intricate board designs are manufacturable, overseeing DFM reviews, material choices, and stackup configurations to align design objectives with fabrication capabilities. Your work will involve high-layer-count boards, advanced materials, and precise tolerances in accelerator and power delivery applications. This position requires close collaboration with hardware design teams located in the US, fabrication vendors, and manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
Lead PCB DFM initiatives by reviewing designs in relation to fabrication vendor capabilities and resolving manufacturability challenges.
Engage directly with PCB fabrication partners to assess stackup alternatives, lamination structures, material selections, and process limitations.
Evaluate and qualify new PCB materials and constructions necessary for next-generation designs, assessing vendor readiness and associated risks.
Effectively communicate fabrication constraints and DFM insights to our US hardware design teams, highlighting trade-offs early to minimize design revisions.
Ensure consistency between design specifications (impedance, layer counts, via structures, tolerances) and the manufacturing capabilities of our vendors.
Support New Product Introduction (NPI) builds by coordinating with fabrication vendors regarding prototype and pilot lot execution, yield feedback, and process enhancements.
You may be a good fit if you have (Must-have qualifications)
Over 5 years of experience in PCB fabrication engineering, DFM, or PCB process engineering.
Extensive knowledge of high-layer-count PCB fabrication, including lamination cycles, sub-laminations, sequential builds, and HDI processes.
