At VVB Engineering, we specialize in delivering cutting-edge Mechanical and Electrical Installation solutions across diverse sectors, including Rail, Tunnel, Power and Utilities, and Construction. We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Electrical Engineer to lead our Electrical Engineering team. In this role, you will provide expert guidance on engineering regulations and compliance while overseeing all facets of electrical projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to VVB's safe system of works and Electrical regulations in accordance with current legislation.
- Serve as the lead Engineer for the implementation of designated tasks.
- Act as the technical lead during project and progress meetings with clients.
- Foster a collaborative environment with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with the bid team to assess proposals and scope documents for tenders.
- Review and validate design documentation for systems up to 33KV.
- Ensure compliance of design risk assessment processes with legal and construction standards.
- Design projects with a focus on risk management, safety, health, environmental, and commercial considerations.
- Provide innovative engineering solutions to project challenges, aligning with client expectations, project limitations, and budgetary constraints.
- Conduct site visits to evaluate and advise on technical, environmental, and health & safety matters.
- Communicate effectively with installation teams to ensure design feasibility and troubleshooting of installation issues.
- Ensure that proper certifications and reports are issued for completed electrical works.
- Assist procurement in evaluating the electrical supply chain.
- Work alongside procurement to assess product compatibility with manufacturers.
- Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) meetings.
- Mentor Engineering Graduates and Apprentices, collaborating with HR in the development of these programs.
- Review and enhance qualifications and competencies of electrical personnel.
