- Lead the establishment and launch of new product lines, ensuring a seamless transition from concept to production.
- Strategically plan MAE and EWAK investments for workstations and accessories catering to both new and existing production lines.
- Oversee the definition, procurement, setup, and trial runs of workstations and accessories for new product introductions.
- Design workstation layouts, compile line release documentation, and execute manufacturing buy-offs prior to pilot runs or mass production.
- Conduct machine and process capability studies to verify that production systems meet capability requirements, introducing Statistical Process Control (SPC) where applicable.
- Deliver training and mentorship to trainers, supervisors, and maintenance teams, imparting essential technical and process knowledge.
- Supervise VSE technician performance to enhance efficiency in value stream improvement initiatives.
- Execute process improvement projects in production through time studies, productivity enhancements, ergonomic assessments, and technological upgrades, while keeping management informed of progress.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to establish maintenance plans and manage spare parts for existing production machinery.
- Participate in failure analysis related to production and advise on the disposition of rejected components.
- Engage in Sales Driven Activity (SDA) projects, preparing supplementary line release documentation for mass production.
- Support quality issue resolution employing problem-solving methodologies such as PSS or 8D.
- Regularly monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), establishing proactive action plans as necessary.
- Optimize equipment and processes to maximize output and quality while minimizing costs.
New Product Introduction
- Manage startup projects including workstation layout, MAE, EWAK investments, new product line setups, and workstation buy-offs.
- Draft Supplier Requirements Specifications (SRS) for the procurement of new machinery and fixtures.
- Contribute to Product and Process FMEA, developing Control Plans and production line release documents ahead of mass production.
- Coordinate PGL Guidelines workshops with project team members and coordinators.
- Calculate VT and line capacity based on projected volumes for PHEK evaluations.
- Conduct machine and process capability studies to ensure readiness for mass production.
- Oversee sample builds in projects, preparing pre-pilot and pilot run reports and ensuring the implementation of corrective actions.
- Provide training to trainers, line leaders, supervisors, and maintenance personnel on assembly processes for new products.
