Role Description
As the Technical Program Manager for Outside Plant (OSP) Construction, you will spearhead cross-product and cross-functional initiatives, collaborating closely with diverse stakeholders to plan, execute, and deliver OSP Forward Build projects and innovative technologies to local markets. Your responsibilities will encompass managing daily construction operations, tracking milestones, and ensuring the successful completion of projects related to the construction of our fiber to the home (FTTH) network. You will oversee all activities downstream of Engineering/Permitting, including pre-construction planning, construction execution, and splicing/testing for project turnover and acceptance by downstream stakeholders.
In this role, you will:
- Oversee project budgets, scheduling, resource planning, activity sequencing and prioritization, vendor performance tracking, financial reporting, invoice approval, and material management.
- Develop and maintain vendor contracts, terms, and construction schedules with the project team, ensuring alignment with business commitments.
- Communicate project progress to internal and external stakeholders to ensure proper scoping and seamless handoff for network acceptance.
- Promote an open, transparent, and cross-discipline change management process.
- Ensure projects comply with approved engineering design plans and Google Fiber specifications and standards, adhering to current contracts, SOWs, and municipal requirements.
