Your Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine solid rocket propellant formulations by balancing performance, mechanical properties, stability, and manufacturability.
  • Oversee laboratory-scale activities including mixing, casting, curing, and post-processing, adhering to established safety and quality protocols.
  • Establish characterization methodologies for propellant materials, encompassing mechanical, thermal, rheological, ballistic, ablation, and aging assessments.
  • Create and document standard testing procedures, acceptance criteria, and data analysis methods for propellant and TPS materials development and qualification.
  • Assist in defining process parameters and quality control measures for propellant and TPS manufacturing, including mixing, degassing, casting, curing, and storage.
  • Analyze formulation trade-offs to enhance performance, robustness, and reproducibility.
  • Support rocket motor development initiatives by linking material properties to motor performance, structural behavior, and thermal conditions.
  • Investigate material anomalies, aging effects, or performance discrepancies, driving root cause analysis and corrective measures.
  • Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including formulation records, process specifications, characterization reports, and development plans.
  • Collaborate closely with propulsion, structures, manufacturing, and testing teams to ensure effective integration of propellant materials into motor designs.
  • Contribute to long-term technology development roadmaps for advanced propellant systems.
