AECOM's Enterprise Capabilities is actively seeking a highly skilled Associate Director to lead our Mechanical Engineering team in Bogota, Colombia. In this pivotal role, you will direct the engineering team, ensuring adherence to international standards of technical excellence while facilitating multidisciplinary integration on complex projects, with a primary focus on HVAC systems.Key Responsibilities:Technical Design Leadership: Supervise the design and implementation of HVAC and other mechanical systems, guaranteeing future scalability, redundancy, ease of maintenance, and energy efficiency.Innovation & Digital Transformation: Champion the adoption of cutting-edge technologies, including advanced Digital Twins, AI-driven Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), and high-Level of Development (LOD) Building Information Modeling (BIM) integration.Talent Development: Mentor senior engineers and specialized leads, creating clear career growth pathways and succession plans within the organization.System Selection Validation: Assess and validate the selection of key technologies such as Fan Wall units, Computer Room Air Handlers (CRAHs), chilled water systems, and containment solutions.Regulatory Compliance Oversight: Ensure meticulous accuracy of thermal load calculations (using software such as HAP, CYPE, etc.) and strict compliance with ASHRAE, SMACNA, and relevant local/international regulations.Deliverable Management: Authorize specifications, system architecture drawings, P&IDs, and final technical reports prior to their distribution.BIM/VDC Oversight: Oversee Revit modeling, manage quality reviews of drawings, and lead interdisciplinary clash coordination as necessary.Manage the department's financial performance, including resource allocation, software licensing budgets, and operational expenditures.Design chilled water systems, variable refrigerant flow systems, centralized systems, and precision cooling solutions.
