Education and Certification Requirements:Post-Secondary Education in Marine Engineering or Equivalent. Transport Canada Second Class Engineer Motor Ship certification. STCW MED BS, PSC, AFF certifications. Marine Advanced First Aid certification. Valid Seafarers Medical certificate. Valid Canadian Passport. Certificate of Proficiency in Fast Rescue Boats is considered an asset. Experience and Knowledge:Proven experience on Offshore Support Vessels, particularly with diesel electric and hybrid propulsion systems. Experience aboard large AHTS vessels is a plus. Strong knowledge of ISM, Transport Canada regulations, MARPOL, and all relevant legislative requirements for vessel operations in Canada. Familiarity with diesel electric engines is advantageous. Demonstrable experience in a management or lead role within the offshore industry. Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills.

We are currently on the lookout for dedicated individuals to fill multiple Second Engineer positions aboard Canadian Flagged Offshore Support Vessels. This role involves a 28-day offshore rotation. Key Responsibilities:

  • Directly reporting to the Vessel Chief Engineer, you will oversee the daily operations of the mechanical systems onboard, ensuring the vessel remains seaworthy through effective maintenance and repair work.
  • Conduct both planned and unplanned maintenance of mechanical installations onboard.
  • Lead Engine Room personnel in conducting risk assessments and toolbox talks.
  • Assist with vessel bunkering operations.
  • Serve as the Engine Room Watchkeeper.
  • Maintain the Engine Logbook and Oil Record Books in an organized and presentable manner.
