Role overview

The Senior Accountant is based at the corporate headquarters in Cincinnati, OH. This position oversees general ledger accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of commercial and multi-family real estate assets. The role also delivers ad hoc financial analysis to support the regional management team, partnering with operations leaders, property managers, and asset management.

This position suits someone who brings strategic thinking, can identify ways to improve performance, forecast results, and help drive data-informed decisions.

Main responsibilities

  • Maintain general ledgers for multiple properties and entities, including handling journal entries and cash receipts, and resolving any coding or booking errors.
  • Develop rolling 12-month income and expense forecasts for property portfolios, using commercial strategies and insights from regional management.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for several entities.
  • Monitor and forecast multi-year capital projects and appropriations.
  • Share results, explain variances, and recommend actions to regional leadership and on-site property management teams.
  • Research and report on significant income and expense factors.
  • Work closely with colleagues throughout the company.
  • Represent Ackermann Group in a professional and courteous way when interacting with residents, coworkers, and the public.
