We are seeking a talented Senior AI Research Engineer to become a pivotal member of our AI Research Team (R&D). In this role, you will advance the field of document understanding through the training of innovative models from inception to realization, and by creating research prototypes and solutions that significantly enhance our product's capabilities.
You will work at the intersection of groundbreaking global research and our internal model development, directly impacting our long-term model strategy and technical roadmap, enabling successful concepts to swiftly transition into scalable systems for customer use.
As part of a collaborative team of seasoned researchers and engineers, you will work closely with Product and AI Platform Teams within a shared monorepo, fostering rapid experimentation, continuous delivery, and tangible customer impact.
What You'll Do
You will be a leading force in shaping Rossum's document understanding strategy, managing comprehensive research initiatives while guiding the evolution of our models and platforms.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Lead research projects spanning deep learning, NLP, computer vision, and multimodal systems , integrating insights from global research with in-house innovation to create proprietary, production-ready models for Rossum.
Design and execute innovative experiments with a proactive mindset, rapidly prototyping while evaluating deployment considerations to ensure real-world impact , focusing on inference cost, latency, robustness, and reliability.
Manage large-scale NLP and vision training systems, overseeing architecture design, distributed training, and in-house benchmarks to align critical metrics with product needs.
Utilize top-tier research infrastructure, including high-performance GPU clusters and large-memory machines, to conduct ambitious experiments at real-world scale.
Influence Rossum’s technical roadmap by pinpointing high-impact research directions and driving their development from concept to customer implementation.
Mentor and guide junior researchers and engineers, fostering a culture of learning and innovation within the team.
