About the job
At Base, our mission is to empower entrepreneurs to conquer the global e-commerce landscape. We are one of the fastest-growing platforms in the industry, experiencing a remarkable growth of 15 times in the last 3 years! We provide an all-in-one system for thousands of sellers, seamlessly integrating them with Amazon, eBay, and Shopify.
However, technology alone is not enough. In our team, we value engineering integrity and human decency. We are not looking for a 'Ninja' or a 'Rockstar'; we seek a Partner we can trust.
Managing infrastructure that handles millions of requests is a position of high trust. That’s why we are searching for a person with a strong moral backbone.
Your Technology Stack
We operate on a robust and efficient stack. You need to know it inside out.
- Core: Linux (Debian/Ubuntu), Nginx (deep tuning and optimization), PHP-FPM
- Cloud: AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, Lambda, IAM)
- Data: MySQL, Redis, RabbitMQ
- Observability: Datadog, ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Kibana)
- IaC: Terraform / Ansible
Your Responsibilities
- Manage permissions related to infrastructure. We expect meticulous attention to who has access to servers and why.
- Implement stable operation concepts for AWS cloud services that can withstand our dynamic growth.
- Maintain Unix/Linux servers – configuration, updates, and automation, with a comprehensive understanding of what is happening in the operating system.
- Respond to incidents based on thorough log analysis (DD, Elastic). Seek root causes (Root Cause Analysis), rather than just restarting services.
- Support development teams to ensure continuous and smooth system operation.
What We Expect
- At least 4 years of experience in a DevOps/SysAdmin role, including practical experience with AWS.
- Strong cloud knowledge, complemented by experience in traditional administration (experience in maintaining physical servers/Data Center is a plus).
- Proficiency in Linux: The terminal is your natural working environment.
- Morality and Responsibility: You blend a 'Can Do' approach with accountability for the entrusted 'keys to the kingdom.'
- Humble towards technology: You understand that everyone makes mistakes, but you know how to fix them.
- Analyze problems from a '360-degree' perspective: You look at issues from every angle – security, performance, and long-term effects.
- Bridge cloud and 'metal': We work on AWS, but we seek someone who understands the physical nature of servers.
- Language: English at least B2 (we operate globally).
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS certifications (confirming knowledge).
- Practical experience with Terraform.
- Familiarity with Apache Kafka or Cloudflare.
- Desire to develop towards agent-based DevOps (process automation).
What We Offer
- A work environment where we treat mistakes as learning opportunities and encourage growth.
