Role Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and highly skilled Senior Manager of System Integration to spearhead the system-level design and integration of intricate hardware components that constitute our quantum computing systems. This role is hands-on, providing technical leadership in a dynamic, interdisciplinary atmosphere, collaborating closely with product, mechanical, optical, electronics, manufacturing, and scientific teams to deliver initial engineering units. You will champion engineering excellence, with previous experience in quantum computing not being a prerequisite.
The System Integration team is tasked with the physical assembly of hardware subsystems into cohesive, operational systems. Responsibilities include enclosures, industrial design, system layout, wiring and cable harness design, connector and power distribution decisions, as well as thermal and environmental management. Additionally, you will supervise the supporting infrastructure such as chillers, data acquisition systems, and hardware-in-the-loop test systems necessary for the development, validation, and operation of our products.
This pivotal role ensures seamless mechanical, electrical, and operational integration of complex subsystems, facilitating effective testing and support of new designs. You will thrive in an environment characterized by significant ambiguity and rapid iteration, generating low-volume yet high-value engineering builds.
