About Polymarket
Polymarket stands at the forefront of innovation as the world’s leading prediction market platform. We empower individuals to share insights on real-world events by trading on outcomes spanning politics, economics, sports, culture, and current affairs. Our unique peer-to-peer marketplace operates without a centralized house, aggregating diverse perspectives into transparent, market-driven probabilities that accurately reflect collective expectations for the future.
As we rapidly expand – with a projected $21B traded in 2025 – we are establishing ourselves as an alternative news source. Our mission is to be a trusted beacon of truth in global media, and we invite you to be a key contributor in this exciting journey.
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to establish and enhance our quality assurance processes from the ground up. In this pivotal role, you will define our testing strategies, determine testing criteria, and decide when code is ready for deployment. You will create automated testing frameworks, implement efficient release processes, and eventually build a small team to scale the QA function.
This is a foundational position with no pre-existing QA infrastructure. You will have the autonomy to shape what quality assurance means at Polymarket.
What You’ll Do
Automated Test Infrastructure: Develop automated test suites from scratch encompassing web applications, backend APIs, and critical trading functionalities. While we recommend TypeScript and Playwright, your input on the technology stack is welcome.
Release Quality: Define and oversee the release testing process. Collaborate with the Technical Program Manager to ensure that releases are well-structured, thoroughly tested, and delivered rapidly.
Product Coverage: Gain a deep understanding of our product to identify essential testing areas, including trading flows, market creation, settlement processes, and edge cases that may impact user finances.
CI/CD Integration: Seamlessly integrate automated tests into our deployment pipeline to catch issues before they reach production.
Bug Tracking & Visibility: Utilize Linear to monitor issues, coordinate with engineering for fixes, and maintain visibility over quality metrics.
Team Building: As we grow, recruit and mentor 2-3 additional QA engineers to expand our quality assurance capabilities.
What We’re Looking For
A minimum of 3 years of experience in QA engineering or SDET roles, particularly in fast-paced startup environments.
Proven expertise in automated testing; you have built test infrastructures from the ground up rather than merely maintaining existing systems. Familiarity with contemporary frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Cypress) is essential.
