About the job

About GiveDirectly

GiveDirectly (GD) is revolutionizing the landscape of international philanthropy by directly delivering cash grants to the most impoverished individuals worldwide. According to the Brookings Institution, eliminating the poverty gap would require $70 billion in cash transfers; however, the aid sector currently allocates $135 billion annually, much of which goes to ineffective interventions. Our mission is to redefine this model, positioning cash transfers as the gold standard for foreign aid, similar to how index funds serve the financial sector, and ultimately accelerating the eradication of extreme poverty.

Since our inception in 2011, GD has raised over $1 billion and has successfully provided cash assistance to more than 1.5 million people across 15 countries. Our commitment to transparency and evidence-based impact has led to extensive experimental research validating the positive effects of our programs. Recognized by Fast Company as one of the most innovative non-profits, our work and the burgeoning cash transfer movement have been highlighted in esteemed publications such as The New York Times Magazine, This American Life, Foreign Affairs, and The Economist.

We foster a culture that values candor, analytical thinking, agility, and flat hierarchies. Our diverse global team of approximately 150, along with 650 dedicated country operations staff, hails from 21 nations and speaks 69 languages. From software engineers to veteran humanitarian professionals, management consultants to public servants, researchers to field operatives, we have an extraordinary blend of talent.

Our values are central to our operations and reflect our commitment to the communities we serve. We strive to cultivate an ambitious, dynamic, and high-performing environment. If our values resonate with your work style and motivate you, we encourage you to consider joining us.

At GiveDirectly, we are dedicated to nurturing an enriching environment where our team members can flourish, achieve success, and grow professionally. We emphasize flexibility, mutual support, enjoyment, and opportunities for advancement.
