Qualifications

To excel in this role, you will need:A Master's Degree with 11 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor's Degree with 15 years of relevant experience. At least 5 years of demonstrable experience in the following:Technical Lead role, guiding and coordinating a small team of developers. Eliciting technical requirements and designing, developing, and implementing software architectures based on RESTful APIs and microservices. Developing applications using C# (version 8.0 or higher) and the Microsoft technology stack. Conducting market analysis, prototyping, and evaluating/benchmarking technologies, including adopting new solutions. Utilizing containerization technologies, cloud deployment environments, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices. Extensive hands-on knowledge in at least three of the following domains is essential (additional expertise is advantageous):Elasticsearch and/or OpenSearch. Graph databases (Neo4j, Memgraph, Virtuoso, or similar). Event-driven architectures. Semantic web technologies and standards (OWL, RDF, JSON-LD). Large Language Models (LLMs) and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) applications. Excellent command of English, with the ability to produce clear technical documentation and specifications.

Uni Systems is seeking a Software Architect to join the Ispra team in the Province of Varese, Italy. This position focuses on supporting public sector clients and shaping digital solutions that deliver real impact.

Role Overview

The Software Architect will work directly with clients, managing a portfolio of projects and building strong, long-term relationships. The role involves monitoring project progress, ensuring quality service, and identifying new business opportunities within the client base.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the design, development, and rollout of new features for the EIOS Portal and related systems.
  • Define and implement scalable architectures using RESTful APIs and microservices.
  • Mentor and coordinate a team of developers, keeping technical direction and project goals aligned.
  • Work with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and formalize technical requirements.
  • Design and oversee integrations with external systems, including intelligence and threat assessment platforms.
  • Evaluate technologies and benchmark solutions through research and prototyping.
  • Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines, containerized deployments, and cloud-based infrastructure.
  • Promote high standards in software delivery by following DevOps and modern engineering best practices.
