In the role of Solutions Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in helping organizations revolutionize their operations through applications such as enhanced customer service, automated content generation, and groundbreaking solutions utilizing our state-of-the-art models.

Position Overview

We are on the lookout for a skilled pre-sales Solutions Engineer to collaborate closely with our Education sales team, focusing on supporting Higher Education institutions and K–12 organizations in adopting and scaling OpenAI’s impactful tools and offerings. Your role will involve engaging with educators, administrators, IT professionals, and institutional stakeholders to integrate AI in a manner that enriches teaching and learning experiences, boosts operational efficiency, and addresses complex challenges within the educational landscape responsibly.

As a trusted technical advisor, you will leverage your extensive product knowledge and exceptional communication skills to showcase value, craft tailored solutions, and guide the responsible adoption of AI in alignment with institutional values, privacy standards, and student-centric outcomes. Your contributions will directly align with OpenAI’s mission to ensure that AI advancements benefit society, particularly by enhancing access, equity, and positive impacts in education.

This role is based in New York City and follows a hybrid work model of three days in the office each week, with relocation assistance available for new employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional pre-sales support to prospects and clients by delivering technical expertise, articulating the value proposition, and addressing inquiries related to products, APIs, and LLMs.

  • Illustrate how ChatGPT and the OpenAI API can fulfill customer business needs and contribute significant value through activities such as building and presenting demos, scoping use cases, recommending architectural frameworks, and providing comprehensive technical advice.

  • Develop and maintain thorough documentation, guides, and FAQs addressing common inquiries and requirements identified during the pre-sales engagement.

  • Cultivate customer advocacy by representing the customer's voice within internal teams, gathering feedback, identifying trends, and integrating insights into product development.
