Job Overview
The SCM Autonomation team is responsible for developing demand forecasting, ordering algorithms, inventory simulations, and supplier relationship management systems to serve our customers. We aim to predict customer demand and ensure the availability of products customers wish to purchase, thereby supporting the growth of our Rocket Delivery and Rocket Fresh businesses.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Entire Insight Cycle: From ideation to production-level insights, this is central to the role.
- Smart Heuristic Development: Proactively identify weaknesses in supply chain systems and develop practical, creative logic. Key focus areas include prediction correction logic (fallback for model failures), out-of-stock (OOS) root cause analysis models, and overstock flag rules.
- Rapid Proof-of-Concept (POC) Development: Quickly develop POCs to validate ideas. For example, creating a Root Cause Analysis dashboard that automatically analyzes causes of stockouts, such as supply delays and inadequate forecasting.
- Production Implementation: Collaborate with demand planning and engineering teams to integrate validated POCs into actual systems, ensuring logic is accurately incorporated into core inventory planning systems.
- Inventory Health Expertise: Analyze key supply chain KPIs such as out-of-stock rates and sell-through rates, providing clear explanations for underlying causes rather than just reporting numbers.
- Data Translator Role: Actively communicate with both technical and non-technical partners to clearly convey not just the 'what' of analysis results, but also 'why it matters.'
