The Role
As the Staff Safety Assurance Engineer, you will be responsible for crafting and overseeing the comprehensive safety assurance framework for the Neo robot platform. Your expertise will ensure that all safety initiatives are cohesively integrated into a robust and defensible safety case that informs deployment strategies. This pivotal position will allow you to innovate safety assurance methodologies for humanoid robots and their applications in domestic settings. You will report directly to the Director of Robot Safety.

Your Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the complete safety case, encompassing claims, reasoning, assumptions, and supporting evidence.

  • Analyze the integrity, consistency, and reliability of evidence backing critical safety claims.

  • Evaluate confidence, uncertainty, coverage constraints, and assumptions across various deployment scenarios.

  • Lead assessments of deployment readiness and effectively communicate risk evaluations to executive leadership.

  • Continuously update the safety case in response to evolving system behaviors, autonomy, and operational conditions.

  • Facilitate post-deployment monitoring and analysis of safety-critical field data.

  • Provide data-driven insights to guide risk acceptance decisions.

  • Serve as an independent and constructive evaluator and critic of safety arguments.
