Role overview
This Staff Software Engineer position is part of the Core Developer Experience (Core DX) team and is open to candidates working remotely from the United Kingdom.
The Core DX team shapes how AlphaSense engineers build software. The main goal: reduce friction and improve the speed and quality of feedback during local development. This work supports approximately 400 engineers worldwide, helping them work more efficiently and confidently.
What you will do
- Design, build, and refine tools, environments, and workflows that support rapid, reliable development cycles.
- Enhance the daily experience of coding, building, and testing for engineers.
- Maintain and improve the internal developer platform, self-service tools, and productivity insights.
- Embed AI into the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) to improve workflows from coding through debugging and testing, with a focus on quality and safe adoption at scale.
- Collaborate with the Cloud DX team, which manages CI/CD and production infrastructure, to ensure a seamless SDLC from local development to production.
- Maintain a strong focus on developer-facing aspects of the engineering process.
The Core DX team
The Core DX team owns the essential development lifecycle at AlphaSense. Responsibilities include the daily tools and platforms engineers use, as well as internal systems for self-service and productivity measurement. While distinct from the Cloud Platform DX team, which manages CI/CD and production infrastructure, both groups work together to deliver a unified developer experience.
