Key ResponsibilitiesConduct structural analysis and design for MDOT bridge projects, adhering to the MDOT Bridge Design Guide (BDG) and AASHTO LRFD specifications. Create comprehensive structural calculations, design drawings, and technical specifications. Perform load rating analyses utilizing MDOT-approved methods and software. Analyze survey data, geotechnical reports, and roadway alignments to inform structural design decisions. Collaborate with roadway, hydraulics, geotechnical, and environmental teams to deliver integrated project solutions. Provide technical assistance throughout the project lifecycle, from concept to construction. Engage in quality control (QC) assessments of structural calculations, drawings, and reports. Support project cost estimation and scheduling efforts. Review shop drawings, contractor submittals, and RFIs to ensure compliance with project standards. Conduct site visits for bridge inspections, construction observation, and field validation.
