ABOUT THE INNOCENCE PROJECT

The Innocence Project is dedicated to exonerating the innocent, averting wrongful convictions, and fostering a justice system that is fair, compassionate, and equitable for all. Our mission is anchored in scientific evidence and a commitment to anti-racism. Since our establishment, we have utilized DNA and other scientific breakthroughs to overturn wrongful convictions, successfully liberating over 250 individuals who collectively endured more than 3,600 years in prison. Our advocacy has also driven the enactment of over 200 transformative laws at both state and federal levels. ABOUT THE POSITION

We invite students to submit proposals for structured learning engagements that resonate with our mission.

Please note that this application is not for our standard semester-based internships, which are filled through a competitive recruitment process on our Careers page.

This intake form is specifically for co-op or fellowship proposals from students.

IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS

All requests will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis, considering our internal capacity and the alignment of student objectives with our institutional needs.

Proposals are reviewed continuously; however, please be aware that decision-making may take up to three months. If you have a specific timeline for your application and response, kindly indicate this in your proposal, and we will strive to accommodate your timeframe.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

If approved, engagements may involve:

Participating in structured departmental projects
Supporting existing departmental initiatives
Completing defined deliverables
Engaging in supervised learning activities

All responsibilities will be confirmed after an internal review and departmental approval.
