Primary Responsibilities:Assist Survey Technicians and Professional Land Surveyors, applying technical skills and knowledge gained from academic studies, while gaining practical experience across various assignments in both field and office settings. Support project sites by traveling to locations within the greater Anchorage area and throughout rural and urban Alaska, documenting field conditions through photography, generating conceptual sketches, and setting up surveying equipment to assist engineering projects. Organize project documentation, including filing, purging, archiving, and general file management. Provide general operational support, which may include event coordination, equipment maintenance, and resource management assistance. Conduct project research and provide support in completing calculations, reports, specifications, drawings, and manuals.

CRW Engineering Group, Inc. is actively looking for dedicated candidates for a full-time, seasonal Survey Intern position for Summer 2026. This role offers a unique opportunity for meaningful responsibility and hands-on training under the supervision of a licensed Professional Land Surveyor, with the potential to transition into part-time work during the academic year.


As a flourishing multidiscipline engineering and surveying firm with offices in Anchorage, Palmer, and Seattle, CRW has a team of nearly 100 professionals who provide planning, design, and construction support services to federal, state, municipal, tribal, and private clients. For over 40 years, we have been committed to building better communities.


In this internship, the selected candidate will gain valuable surveying experience across both rural and urban environments in Alaska, engaging in a variety of projects including boundary and subdivision plats, topographic surveys, right-of-way surveys, ALTA surveys, Hydrographic surveys, UAV Aerial surveys, and Laser Scanning surveys.


Interns will have the chance to contribute to diverse projects such as road improvements, water and sewer systems, drainage and site enhancements, restaurants, educational facilities, power plants, bulk fuel facilities, water treatment plants, airports, flood modeling, and coastal erosion management.


The role involves utilizing advanced surveying technology including Leica GPS, robotic surveying equipment, laser scanning devices, Leica and DJI drones, and Sonarmite DFX echosounder hydrographic equipment. Fieldwork may also require the use of 4-wheelers, snow machines, and boats. In the office, interns will be responsible for data reduction and mapping using software such as Leica, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, and Pix4D.
