Qualifications
Key Responsibilities:Conduct in-depth technical market research across Photonics, Semiconductor, Medical Device, Datacom, and other critical segments. Identify and assess sales and marketing opportunities for Thorlabs’ diverse product offerings. Analyze industry statistics and stay updated on trends in scientific and trade literature. Collect and provide insights to determine Thorlabs’ market positioning. Evaluate the effectiveness of business strategies and practices. Utilize statistical analysis, financial modeling, and market research to forecast and track marketing and sales trends. Gather competitive data to analyze pricing, sales, product offerings, and financial performance. Develop data-driven models to support pricing strategies. Prepare comprehensive reports that visually and textually communicate complex findings. Collaborate with stakeholders across executive management, business units, and sales/marketing to clarify data needs and enhance decision-making. Engage in special projects related to Thorlabs’ business strategies.

The Technical Analyst is instrumental in providing actionable insights that support strategic decision-making in sales, marketing, and new business ventures. This role involves creatively sourcing data on niche markets where traditional insights may be limited. The successful candidate will excel in generating, manipulating, and analyzing large datasets.
Although based in Newton, NJ, occasional travel to other Thorlabs locations may be required.
