About the job

The Total Rewards Partner at Unity Technologies serves as a strategic advisor to senior leaders across five business areas: Grow & AI, Development/Product, COO, G&A, and Sales & Marketing. Based in Montreal, this position is part of the People trio, working closely with Talent Strategy and Talent Acquisition. The role focuses on shaping, implementing, and managing compensation and workforce planning programs that align with Unity’s objectives. Success in this position requires high autonomy, strong judgment, and advanced expertise in compensation, market analysis, and business strategy to help keep Unity’s rewards programs both competitive and fair.

What you will do

  • Advise functional leaders on compensation and workforce planning, ensuring effective communication and alignment within the People trio.
  • Participate as an active member of the talent leadership team in leadership meetings, including committees, offsites, and quarterly business reviews.
  • Guide compensation decisions for hiring, promotions, retention, reorganizations, and business transformations up to the Senior Vice President level, maintaining consistency with Unity’s compensation philosophy and governance.
  • Interpret and apply job architecture, salary structures, equity allocation frameworks, and recognition programs to meet business needs, collaborating with centralized Compensation and Equity teams as needed.
  • Monitor market trends, compensation practices, promotion rates, and recognition patterns; identify risks and recommend adjustments to functional teams and Total Rewards leadership.
  • Facilitate and administer compensation cycles and off-cycle programs, providing business context for investment decisions and calibration discussions.
  • Deliver structured feedback to centralized Compensation and Benefits teams on program effectiveness, unique cases, and evolving business requirements.
