Your Responsibilities as a Wetland Scientist and Permitting Specialist:
- Provide high-level technical oversight and engage in project work.
- Compose and evaluate technical reports and proposals.
- Support project management activities.
- Mentor and guide scientific staff, overseeing their work.
- Actively pursue your career development.
What We Are Seeking:
- An Ecologist or Environmental Scientist with a Bachelor's degree or higher, knowledgeable in wetlands and native plant identification, as well as State of Florida/U. S. Army Corps of Engineers permitting.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in wetland and regulated waters delineation, habitat assessments, and permitting/mitigation requirements for wetlands, waters, floodplains, and buffer zones in both inland and coastal ecosystems.
- Proficiency in natural resource surveys and methodologies (vegetation, wildlife, water, soils, and site conditions), with experience using GPS equipment.
- Capability to complete wetland and regulated waters delineation independently or as a field team lead. Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) certification is preferred but not mandatory.
- Required experience in state wetland and waters permitting in Florida.
- Strong technical writing skills, with the ability to document fieldwork and collect scientific data in accordance with regulatory programs and technical guidelines.
- Excellent computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
