Your Impact: 

As part of our expanding R&D team, which includes mechanical, systems, and software engineers, you will play a key role in developing and refining the Formlabs printing processes. Collaborating closely with other engineering teams, you will help research next-generation printers and materials, utilizing engineering principles, physics, and hands-on experimentation to transform concepts into exceptional, reliable products.

What You’ll Do:

  • Innovate new 3D printing techniques, from developing new printer architectures to validating intricate changes in Galvo control.
  • Contribute to the exploration of emerging technologies.
  • Address complex, open-ended challenges across various engineering disciplines.
  • Conduct experiments and leverage the findings to enhance software and hardware functionalities.
  • Assess current printer performance and identify opportunities for optimization.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to implement enhancements to existing products, such as redesigning support structure algorithms based on experimental outcomes.

About You:

  • You question assumptions and support your views with data.
  • You possess experience in experimental design and data analysis to guide design decisions.
  • You can design and construct test fixtures for experiments.
  • You have a portfolio or website showcasing your current and past projects.
  • You are proficient in programming and scientific computing, preferably in Python or Matlab.
  • You are familiar with mechanical design, mechatronics, and CAD modeling.
  • You hold a B. S., M. S., or Ph. D. in an engineering discipline (all educational backgrounds are welcome).
