Qualifications
Key ResponsibilitiesLead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close processes, including timely preparation of journal entries, reconciliations for balance sheet and income statement accounts, and analyses for various accounts such as prepaids, accruals, leases (ASC 842), and fixed assets. Develop and prepare monthly management financial packages, complete with analyses, and generate additional management reports as requested, clearly articulating the company’s financial results. Reconcile payroll-related accounts and prepare payroll journal entries. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary financial reporting information and enhance the financial reporting process. Support accounts payable operations, managing vendor invoices, payment processing, and purchase order reconciliations. Identify and implement opportunities to automate and enhance accounting processes using ERP systems or other innovative tools. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including tax filings, audit readiness, and adherence to financial reporting standards.

Role overview
The Accounting Manager oversees all accounting operations at Xaira Therapeutics and reports directly to the Corporate Controller. This position manages a team of contractors who handle daily accounting activities. Over time, the Accounting Manager will take the lead in building and developing an in-house accounting team as the company grows.

Reporting structure
