POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Assistant Bakery Operations Manager (ABOM) is a pivotal role aimed at cultivating the future leaders of our bakery operations. ABOMs operate with a high degree of responsibility, executing bakery tasks with speed, precision, and accountability while honing the necessary leadership skills to independently manage a bakery.
This position combines hands-on operational excellence with talent cultivation, administrative management, and team leadership. As an essential partner to the Bakery Operations Manager (BOM), ABOMs should be prepared to assume full operational control when required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Execution
• Oversee all core bakery operations including inventory management, scheduling assistance, staffing coordination, and completion of administrative tasks.
• Ensure rigorous adherence to product quality, cleanliness, food safety, and customer experience standards.
• Assist with inventory accuracy, ordering, and minimizing shrinkage.
• Contribute to schedule creation and labor management to achieve operational goals.
Talent & Team Development
• Participate in the recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, and training of new team members.
• Provide consistent coaching and immediate performance feedback to team members.
• Hold team members accountable to performance standards while fostering a culture of growth and development.
• Ensure training programs are conducted in line with company standards.
Leadership & Ownership
• Manage bakery operations autonomously in the absence of the BOM.
• Demonstrate urgency, accountability, and operational discipline.
• Collaborate with the BOM and Area leadership to identify operational challenges and implement effective solutions.
• Ensure continuity of operations during leadership transitions or staffing shortages.
