Qualifications:High School Diploma or GED is required. Two to three years of relevant experience or equivalent certification/trade experience is preferred. CFC Certification is preferred, or willingness to obtain as required; must possess engineering and trade licenses as mandated by local, state, or national regulations. Basic proficiency with laptop and mobile applications for work orders and facility operation systems, as well as fundamental skills in Microsoft Outlook. Familiarity with fire/life safety equipment and procedures is a plus. Demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional customer service; effective interaction and communication with tenants, vendors, contractors, teammates, and leadership. Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to work.

About the job

The Building Engineer I at LPC supports the daily operation and maintenance of building systems in Atlanta, GA. This role focuses on routine upkeep of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems, responding to tenant needs, and maintaining a safe work environment. The position works closely with senior engineers and interacts regularly with tenants, contractors, and property managers.

Main Responsibilities

  • Carry out scheduled maintenance, repairs, and inspections of building systems.
  • Respond to tenant service requests, including temperature adjustments, plumbing concerns, and lighting repairs.
  • Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and escalate more complex problems as needed.
  • Replace light fixtures, filters, and other system components when required.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections and equipment performance to support compliance efforts.
  • Work with tenants, contractors, and property managers to address operational needs and resolve concerns.
  • Assist with preventive maintenance tasks and monitor contractor work on site.
  • Conduct property inspections to identify and report areas needing attention.
  • Document equipment readings and confirm that systems meet established standards.
  • Follow company safety protocols, use appropriate PPE, and ensure compliance with OSHA, NEC, NFC, and NFPA regulations.
  • Report safety hazards and participate in safety inspections.
  • Offer guidance to junior technicians as needed.
  • Communicate clearly with teammates, leadership, vendors, tenants, and client employees to keep all parties informed.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to build technical skills and participate in professional development aimed at career advancement.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
