The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:A university degree in Civil Engineering. A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated design experience in residential and industrial land development projects. Licensed as a Professional Engineer in Alberta (APEGA) and in good standing. Proficient in design software with a solid understanding of AutoCAD/Civil3D. Exceptional oral and written communication skills in English; French bilingualism is an asset. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, effective time management, and a creative mindset. Comprehensive understanding of land development and municipal engineering principles. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Experience in project management or familiarity with the consulting engineering environment is considered an asset.

Our thorough approach includes the meticulous preparation of engineering documents necessary for submission, underscoring our dedication to adhering to municipal design standards and criteria. We assure municipalities that proposed developments will not negatively impact adjacent properties or downstream infrastructure. Additionally, we conduct comprehensive assessments of each site's natural features, ensuring our plans minimize environmental impacts while promoting sustainable project development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead diverse projects: Execute planning, design, and land development for municipal servicing, linear and heavy civil infrastructure projects, overseeing everything from concept to construction and post-construction acceptance. Responsibilities include subdivisions, site plans, mixed-use developments, lot grading, stormwater management, sanitary and water servicing, roadway design, and utility coordination.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams: Work alongside engineers, technologists, and subconsultants to deliver high-quality outputs that comply with municipal, provincial, and regulatory standards.
  • Provide technical authority: Offer expertise in stormwater management, sanitary and water servicing, grading and drainage, roadway design, and utility coordination for various projects.
  • Enhance client relations: Act as a primary point of contact for developers, municipalities, and regulatory agencies, ensuring alignment with client objectives and community needs.
  • Facilitate approvals: Prepare and review technical reports, drawings, and submissions for subdivisions, site plans, zoning amendments, and environmental approvals.
  • Manage project financials: Assist in budgeting, forecasting, invoicing, and contract administration, negotiating agreements with consultants and contractors.
