We are currently seeking a motivated Transportation Design Engineer with a few years of experience in civil infrastructure design to join our Bay Area offices. In this role, you will work closely with a multidisciplinary team on a variety of transportation projects, contributing from initial concept through to construction documentation. As a valued member of BKF’s Transportation team, you will collaborate with seasoned engineers on assignments related to roadway, highway, and public infrastructure. You will apply standard engineering techniques and sound judgment while gaining hands-on experience in a supportive environment. Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D and a California E. I. T. certification are highly regarded, along with a proactive attitude and a strong desire to learn.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute geometric calculations and plotting, including cross-sections, profiles, and alignments for transportation design projects
- Perform routine hydraulics calculations to support drainage and utility system design
- Prepare site grading calculations and develop grading plans utilizing CAD tools
- Employ computer and CAD systems, including AutoCAD Civil 3D, to create and refine design documentation
- Collect and analyze data from public agencies to assist in project planning, permitting, and design decisions
- Work collaboratively with project engineers and managers to ensure design accuracy and adherence to project objectives
- Help review plans and calculations for thoroughness and compliance with applicable standards
