The Construction Manager is pivotal in steering, coordinating, and overseeing all construction endeavors from the commencement of site mobilization to the successful completion of projects. This role guarantees compliance with design specifications, quality benchmarks, local regulations, and safety standards while adhering to project timelines. Acting as the principal site representative for the company, the Construction Manager collaborates closely with contractors, consultants, regulatory bodies, and internal stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of mission-critical and industrial projects.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Team Management
- Direct daily construction operations to ensure conformity with IFC drawings and project specifications.
- Oversee site-wide collaboration among civil, architectural, structural, MEP, and specialized contractors.
- Evaluate contractor performance, resource allocation, equipment readiness, and overall site preparedness.
- Proactively identify construction risks, conflicts, and delays, facilitating prompt resolutions with contractors and consultants.
- Manage site logistics, including access control, storage areas, traffic routes, and material management.
- Ensure compliance with internal processes, documentation standards, and quality expectations.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager for daily site operations, including utilities installation and safety compliance.
- Foster a robust safety culture, conducting regular inspections and safety engagements with EHS teams.
- Maintain open communication and strong relationships with general contractors, subcontractors, consultants, authorities, and internal teams.
- Assist QS/Contracts in evaluating variations, claims, progress payments, and milestones.
- Represent the company in project reviews and client-facing meetings.
Project Coordination & Interface Management
- Facilitate coordination of project activities with design consultants, QS, commissioning agents, contractors, vendors, and client representatives.
- Monitor the project schedule and develop detailed construction lookahead schedules aligned with the master program.
- Conduct regular site coordination meetings with general contractors, subcontractors, and consultants to monitor progress and address interface challenges.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager, Design Manager, and MEP Manager to foster multidisciplinary coordination.
- Support procurement tracking, delivery planning, long-lead item coordination, and site readiness for installation.
- Review and approve method statements, shop drawings, ITPs, and construction procedures prior to execution.
