Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management. A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in project controls, ideally in residential, mixed-use, or infrastructure developments. Strong knowledge of construction sequencing and workflows for residential projects, including structural works, finishes, MEP, and handover phases. Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and Microsoft Excel; knowledge of Power BI is a plus. Experience in cost control, budgeting, and earned value management. Familiarity with Kenyan construction codes, approval processes, and local authority regulations. Excellent communication, analytical, and report-writing skills. Proven ability to work effectively under pressure and within multidisciplinary project teams. Preferred Qualifications Membership in a recognized professional body (e.g., EBK, IQSK, ICPAK). Experience with developer-led or coordinated construction projects.

Join Tatu City as a Construction Project Planner/Scheduler, where you will play a pivotal role in the successful execution of our residential and mixed-use construction projects. You will be responsible for developing, managing, and monitoring project schedules and budgets, ensuring timely delivery within budget constraints. This position requires effective collaboration with site teams, contractors, and project managers to align with company objectives and maintain high standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and manage comprehensive project schedules using Primavera P6 and/or MS Project, including sequencing construction activities for residential and infrastructure projects.
  • Regularly monitor site progress, assess subcontractor performance, and identify any schedule deviations from the baseline plan.
  • Develop and oversee project budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections related to ongoing developments.
  • Validate subcontractor claims, interim payment requests, and variations for accuracy and compliance.
  • Track the utilization of materials, manpower, and equipment to ensure alignment with project timelines and resource allocation.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboards, and performance summaries for management and key stakeholders.
  • Maintain and revise project risk registers, identifying potential schedule or cost risks and proposing mitigation strategies.
  • Assist in contract administration by evaluating time and cost impacts of design or scope modifications.
  • Ensure adherence to company procedures, project governance standards, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with site engineers, quantity surveyors, procurement, and project managers to ensure accurate reporting and effective communication across teams.
