Join Our Innovative AI Lab as a DevOps Engineer!
At Cognition, we are at the forefront of applied artificial intelligence, creating cutting-edge software agents that transform the engineering landscape. Our flagship products, Devin—the world's first AI software engineer—and Windsurf, an AI-native integrated development environment (IDE), embody our vision for collaborative AI that allows engineers to tackle more challenging and rewarding problems.
Our team is a powerhouse of talent, featuring elite competitive programmers, former entrepreneurs, and leaders from top-tier AI companies such as Scale AI, Palantir, Waymo, Tesla, and Google DeepMind.
While we have successfully developed Devin and Windsurf, we recognize that our most significant challenges are still ahead. If you are passionate about solving major global issues and developing AI that can reason through real-world tasks, we invite you to become a part of our journey.
About the Role
This is an exceptional opportunity to become a foundational engineer within our newly established federal division. As one of the pioneering engineers in this vital area, you will have a significant impact on shaping our technical direction and achieving initial project milestones. You will also be crucial in guiding the strategic growth and scalability of our federal engineering team, establishing essential engineering practices, defining our technical stack for federal clients, and influencing the culture of a mission-driven team.
As a Federal DevOps Engineer, you will be a full-stack deployment expert, responsible for managing the technical lifecycle of our key federal enterprise deployments.
You will lead a focused set of strategic deployments, collaborating directly with customer engineering teams to outline complex deployment requirements, ensure adherence to security protocols, and implement necessary platform modifications.
A pivotal aspect of this role is enhancing our products from a deployability and operability perspective. You will make direct modifications to the core codebase, ensuring our products can be deployed efficiently and reliably across various environments. You will identify deployment patterns in the field and translate those insights into actionable requirements that guide future core engineering developments. When customers encounter challenges that our product does not address, you will be the problem-solver who identifies the necessary solutions and brings them to fruition.
You will steer the technical strategy of our deployments, making critical decisions that influence long-term adoption, architectural design, and the evolution of the Cognition platform in real-world applications.
