The Weave Platform integrates AI into regulatory workflows throughout the therapeutic lifecycle, supporting clients with technology tailored to the unique challenges of this field.
The Director of Applied Artificial Intelligence leads the Applied AI team in the San Francisco Bay Area. This role shapes the technical direction of Weave’s AI work, oversees team culture, and manages growth as needed. The Director has final authority over AI architecture decisions and team personnel, reporting directly to the Head of Engineering.
The Applied AI team works with Large Language Models (LLMs) and related technologies, such as agents and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG). Efforts focus on creating, evaluating, and deploying AI features that are reliable, controllable, and valuable within the Weave platform. Technical leaders at Weave remain hands-on, contributing to code, reviewing pull requests, and engaging in technical discussions. The Director balances technical involvement with team empowerment and serves as the main point of contact for scientists and engineers.

- Develop AI features that address customer needs and build user trust.
- Set and uphold high standards for analytical rigor, evidence-based decisions, and LLM expertise.
- Plan and execute AI architecture investments in collaboration with Product and Technical Leadership.
- Foster a culture that delivers valuable AI features to clients regularly and quickly.
- Establish and enforce quality standards to strengthen customer confidence.
- Keep the Weave platform aligned with current AI advancements.
- Recruit, manage, and retain top talent for the Applied AI team.
