Role overview
The Director of Electrical Engineering leads the electrical engineering division, setting the direction and growth strategy for the team. This position focuses on advancing product development for observatory systems and laser communication technologies. The director manages both the architectural planning and the hands-on execution of complex, high-performance hardware projects.
What you will do
- Direct the design and development of circuits and electrical systems for optical and communication products
- Lead and mentor the electrical engineering team, defining technical standards and best practices
- Oversee products from concept through production, maintaining technical excellence throughout
- Work closely with other disciplines to deliver integrated solutions
- Grow and develop a high-performing engineering organization
Requirements
- Extensive experience in circuit and electrical system design
- Background in leading engineering teams and establishing engineering standards
- Track record of guiding products from concept to production
- Expertise in high-performance hardware, especially in observatory or laser communication systems
- Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on technical work
