Spotify is hiring a Director of Engineering, Consumer Experience to lead technical strategy and team growth for the global content platform. This Stockholm-based role shapes how millions of listeners engage with Spotify on mobile, desktop, smart speakers, TVs, vehicles, and more.
Key responsibilities
- Guide the evolution of Spotify’s content platform, making sure content remains accurate, complete, and accessible everywhere users interact with Spotify.
- Define and manage essential systems and workflows for content management, including APIs, lifecycle orchestration, and content integrity.
- Lead and develop engineering teams focused on building scalable solutions for Spotify’s growing content ecosystem.
- Work closely with cross-functional partners to deliver seamless consumer experiences that reflect Spotify’s brand and meet user expectations.
- Support the scaling of Spotify’s content systems as new formats, use cases, and regulatory requirements appear.
The content platform
The Content Platform is central to managing all content within Spotify’s ecosystem. The team provides a reliable source of truth, enabling efficient content management and reuse throughout Spotify’s products. As the platform adapts to new formats and regulatory changes, trust and quality for users and creators remain priorities.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an engineering leader, building and scaling complex content or platform systems.
- Strong background in managing diverse technical teams and driving cross-functional work.
- Ability to navigate changing requirements and regulatory environments.
- Skilled at balancing technical vision with practical execution to deliver high-quality user experiences.
