About the job
As an Engineering Manager at DERICON, you will take full technical ownership of a mission-critical, highly regulated financial data platform. This role is an exceptional opportunity to blend deep technical expertise with strategic influence in a financial environment that adheres to strict regulations. You will guide the evolution of a complex platform ecosystem, lead multidisciplinary teams, and directly shape how technology facilitates regulatory compliance and drives commercial success.
Your role will involve engaging with senior stakeholders on large, multiphase projects, and spearheading future-focused initiatives, including platform modernization and AI-driven capabilities. This position offers both technical depth and a pathway to broader technology leadership roles.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing the complete system architecture of the DERICON platform, encompassing microservices, data flows, dependencies, and potential failure modes across the entire ecosystem.
- Ensuring regulatory compliance is a key deliverable by translating BAIT/DORA/BaFin expectations into actionable technical controls, documented evidence, audit support, and measurable outcomes for security and resilience, while evolving the architecture feature by feature.
- Leading and nurturing a diverse technology organization, providing clear direction, prioritization, and technical mentorship.
- Recruiting and onboarding essential engineers, defining role profiles, conducting interviews, and ensuring effective knowledge transfer.
- Managing production operations comprehensively, including incident and problem management, monitoring/alerting, on-call escalations, post-mortems, and continuous reliability improvements across AWS and CI/CD.
- Overseeing release and change management, including rollout and rollback strategies, production readiness assessments, and controlled changes in a regulated environment.
- Presenting clear decision proposals (risk, cost, timeline, compliance impact) to business and compliance stakeholders, and leading technical escalations with senior management and auditors as necessary.
- Managing complex, multiphase projects while balancing risk, regulatory obligations, costs, and delivery timelines.
