About the job

P-1413

At Databricks, we are driven by our mission to empower data teams in tackling some of the world's most challenging problems — from transforming transportation to fast-tracking medical innovations. We achieve this by developing and operating the premier data and AI infrastructure platform, enabling our clients to leverage deep data insights to elevate their business.

As the UI Platform team, we are dedicated to providing frontend developers at Databricks with the tools they need to create extraordinary features. We support hundreds of frontend developers weekly and oversee every facet of the development loop, utilizing cutting-edge technologies such as Typescript, React, GraphQL, Yarn, Node, Webpack, and more!

We are in search of a passionate Engineering Leader to drive one of two pivotal initiatives within the UI Platform. The first initiative focuses on empowering developers to transition from concept to production-ready code within 24 hours, managing the development loop and production monitoring to ensure seamless code deployment. The second initiative aims to create a Single Pane of Glass, integrating various elements of Databricks into a cohesive and user-friendly experience.

In this role, you will report directly to the Senior Manager of Engineering.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Leading a skilled engineering team focused on one of the aforementioned initiatives.
  • Continuously recruiting top-tier talent and fostering development within the team.
  • Establishing processes that align product vision and strategy with organizational goals.
  • Creating software that is high-quality and user-friendly.
  • Managing technical debt, making long-term architectural decisions, and balancing the product roadmap.
