Role Overview
The Executive Assistant will work closely with one or two General Partners at YC. This position is based at our San Francisco headquarters. The role centers on managing complex calendars, organizing events, and using YC’s internal software to help coordinate with founders and portfolio companies.
This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys working independently and values exposure to the startup world. The role offers a close look at how new businesses get started and a chance to connect with founders and entrepreneurs.

What You Will Do
- Handle administrative tasks, including calendar management and scheduling for General Partners. Prevent conflicts and ensure efficient use of time.
- Plan and run events, managing logistics for gatherings of 20 to 500+ attendees at the YC office or other venues. Some evening and weekend work is expected, with flexibility to adjust hours as needed.
- Coordinate domestic and international college tours with General Partners.
- Arrange travel and manage ad hoc requests as they come up.
- Work with other YC team members across functions as needed.
- Support writing projects when requested.
What We’re Looking For
- At least 5 years of experience as an Executive Assistant or in a similar operations or support role.
- Comfortable supporting multiple stakeholders at once, with strong attention to detail and efficiency.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle changing priorities.
- Clear, effective communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Experience planning and coordinating events.
